Queen Of The Fairies Blog
The team looking at how the images came out.
For this shoot I provided hair, costuming, photography and editing.
My assistant Rachelle Beaudoin was the makeup artist and directing assistant.
Aether Martin was the assistant and prop holder.
Kat Morse was the lighting and reflector assistant.
Hailey Owen was our wonderful model.
Start Of The Shoot
The shoot started around 4:00. The light started to dim as we got to location. We had 30 minutes for makeup and a costume change before shooting. After we were all set up we had only one hour left for shooting before it became pitch black.
As we started to set up we were gifted with bouquets of flowers from a company that just put on a proposal. What Luck! They gifted us with three beautiful lily centerpieces and bouquets of baby's breath.
We got to shooting. With each final image I screamed with excitement on how amazing this shoot was turning out.
We had so much fun doing this shoot. There was a beautiful moment when a child walked past our model with fairy wings and just stared at her in total admiration and wonder. It makes me so happy to think we made a core memory for a child.
End Of The Shoot
Our model captured by one of our assistants .
At the last image of our series (our first time producing six images) it was pitch black. We didn’t bring any of our lights so we all whipped out our phone flashlights 😂. Ridiculous, I know but that's all we could do.
After the last image was wrapped we trekked back past beautiful moon lit ponds and sounds of frogs.
After The Shoot
It took about three days to fully edit these images. I retouched, toned, and added fun sparkles.
Now it was time for submitting. I submitted my images to spellbound Magazine. It took about two weeks and then our images were accepted. Our images come out December 16, 2023.
