Healing Herbal Medicine For Winter

The owner of The Dreamatorium, Lillian, pouring fire cider for the workshop to taste.

We started this workshop at Dress Your Soul in Morro Bay California. The generous owner let us set up our table in the back of the store that was mostly windows. It's the perfect spot to see boats, seals, otters and magnificent sunsets.

Once our table was all set up I opened my basket and started displaying all of our wonderful herbs on the table. Our fresh out of the garden herbs were double bloomed hibiscus flowers, onions, elephant garlic, oranges, lemons, ginger, turmeric, rosemary, thyme, pomegranate and Jalapeno peppers. Our dried herbs were rose hips, elderberries, cinnamon and cloves.

We went over what fire cider is and the medicinal benefits of using it all throughout winter. We then cut up all our produce and started stuffing everything we wanted into our jar. Our table smelled so good!

An important thing to keep in mind when we are making medicine is knowing what intentions we are putting into it.

When you make it, are you thinking about healing your family? Yourself? Community?

Charging your medicine with positive energy and clear intentions, in my opinion, is just as important as the herbs you put into it.

Freshly made fire cider and herbal books.

Our main points in our workshop was “What is fire cider?”, “How did it get its name?”, “Medicinal uses of the provided herbs?” and “How to store your fire cider?”.

After the lecture was over we made our fire cider in jars and put clear labels on each jar.

Lastly we all shook our jars and meditated our intentions into our medicine.

This was such a magical opportunity to educate our community and provide everyone with a safe space to make herbal magic.

Everyone’s fire cider jars.

It makes a wonderful medicine. It took some time for me to get use to but now I love it. It’s also one of my dads favorites as well.

If you find yours to strong you are welcome to use it over food or dilute it with water.
